Oliver Stone's Savages Is Nothing Short Of A Savage Piece Of Art!
From the three-time Oscar winning directing master that is Oliver Stone (Platoon, Natural Born Killers) comes a bloody tale of drugs, money, women and the Mexican Cartel.
If you think that these particular subjects combined, have been over used in films, then just wait until you see what Stone did with it. His hand picked all star cast includes the likes of Taylor Kitsch (John Carter) Aaron Johnson (Kick Ass) John Travolta and the ridiculously sexy Blake Lively. What we have seen so far has impressed, with its gritty and down right mean attitude.
Every aspect of this film is twisted in one way or another, in to being free of any suggestion of innocence, purity or mercy. From the lead love interest being a three way relationship, to the main federal agent being as bent as John Travolta… *ahem* and of course the Mexican Cartel who are cold hearted violent SOB’s at the best of times.
Here at ZOO we love a badass, and Benicio Del Toro certainly falls into that category. He plays a soulless hit man for the Baja Cartel which is headed by the just as bad ass (although significantly more luscious) Salma Hayek. They take this story out of the shallows of a couple of local marijuana dealers and into the murky depths of mass drug trafficking.
After the two small time weed heads refuse to partner with the BC, who want in on their ‘best-weed-in-the-world’ biznizz it all goes to pot – and their new enemies are not the kind of people who will let the smoke clear before asking politely again.
So let the madness commence, gringo!
Savages is released September 21: In the mean time check out some behind the scenes footage here!
