The Campaign: Ferrell And Galifianakis Go Head-To-Head At The Polls!
Will Ferrell is has a lot of expectation on his shoulders at the moment. Having kept us waiting nearly 10 years for Anchorman 2, there’s a lot to be desired from the film.
And his latest project, The Campaign is no exception in the "must be hilarious" stakes. Will is teaming up with Zach Galifiankis - the infamous Alan "Wolfpack" Garner from The Hangover - and Meet The Parents and Austin Powers director Jay Roach for the film comedy fans have been drooling over for months.
Thankfully, this new trailer has not disappointed us.
Will and Zach play rival candidates in a small North Carolina district congressional election for the House Of Representatives (no, we don’t understand the American political system either).
The trailer gives us a glimpse into the world of Cam Brady, Will Ferrell’s incumbent congressman - who has won the past four elections - and Zack Galifianakis’ Marty Huggins, the challenger who comes out of nowhere. We see glimpses of both their families – Marty Huggins’ son seems to have an odd relationship with a goat - their trash talk, and the lengths they’ll go to get votes. Which includes a traditional baby kissing going a little bit, er, rogue.
American politics is ridiculous enough as it is, and it is clear both actors hardly needed to stretch their comedy muscles to produce a hilarious parody of the way Americans go about their elections. These infomercials from Ferrell and Galifianakis show exactly what we mean.
The film is released on 28 September and it can’t come soon enough!
