Looper: Bruce Willis And Joseph Gordon-Levitt Fight To The Death!
It feels like bloody ages since we’ve seen Bruce Wills running around with a gun, taking down terrorists while random explosions make a lot of noise in the background.
But at last, the man that is John McClane is back. And we mean really back, with an action overdose that’ll have you joyfully yelling “Yippee-ki-yay, motherf**ker!"
Not only does Bruce have another Die Hard instalment in the pipeline, as well as The Expendables 2 and G.I. Joe: Retaliation, but he’s starring in new futuristic thriller, Looper. Which, by the way, looks pretty darn cool if the trailer is anything to go by.
Indie leading man and Inception star Joseph Gordon-Levitt plays Joe, an assassin - known as a looper - who knocks off targets sent to him by a criminal organisation. The brain-muddling bit being that the organisation in question are sending these poor blokes back from the future via time travel. Which doesn’t exist yet in the present, but does in 30 years time where these mysterious time-master mafia bosses are lurking.
What with the fact loopers are paid a tonne of money and get to hang with sexy ladies at parties, Joe is having a whale of a time. That is until he is assigned to kill himself. Tricky little situation, that.
Written and directed by Rian Johnson - who brought us the brilliant Brick - it looks like we can expect car chases, a challengingly clever plot and awesome special effects. Roll on September!
Looper arrives in cinemas on 28 September!
