If you're looking to name some epic gaming series of recent years, it'd be churlish to not include Mass Effect.

The sci-fi action role-playing game has shipped millions of units since the first game was released way back in 2007, and is often cited as one of the major leap forwards gaming has had in story-telling and cinematic experiences.

Judging by the latest trailer in the pre-launch warm-up - Take Earth Back - the trilogy-completing Mass Effect 3 looks certain to continue the franchise's trend.

Expect Commander Shepard to be blasting space-hopping creatures into a million pieces as always, then.
