Movie Reviews: Dead Man Running!
Dead Man Running
The plot has more twists than a rollercoaster at Alton Towers, so we’ll just give you the basics. Former dodgy dealer Nick (Tamer Hassan) has 24 hours to get US gangster Mr Thigo (the brilliant 50 Cent) £100k, with the help of his best mate Bing (ZOO’s very own Danny Dyer). Cue harsh banter, plenty of cracking one-liners, lots of mad violence and the odd hot girl – all in a mental 90 minutes. Go see it.

Jack Osbourne raved about this to us, but that’s probably because his mate Elijah Wood’s the star. It’s visually stunning, but not the masterpiece he claimed. Wood’s a self-aware ragdoll, who wakes up in a post-apocalyptic world ruled by murderous machines. A bit like Terminator Salvation, just not completely crap.

Peep Show Series 6
(DVD) The series that’s just been on television. So Jez gets a new girlfriend who turns out to be a lesbian, Mark gets made redundant and Sophie reveals to the pair who the father of her baby is. As always, the best bits are the inner monologues, but the duo’s calamitous house party and Mark going into business with former boss Johnson are also hysterical highlights.

Public Enemies
(DVD, Blu-ray) Crime epic about ’30s robber John Dillinger played by Johnny Depp. We expected big things from director Michael Mann, but this left us a bit cold.

Le Donk And Scor-zay-zee
(DVD) Shot in five days, this music mockumentary is rough around the edges, but has real charm. Wannabe mogul Donk tries to break Scor-zay-zee into the big-time.
