Movie Week: Fantastic Mr Fox!
Fantastic Mr Fox
George Clooney is perfect as the voice of Roald Dahl’s roguish title character in this retro-styled stop-motion animation. The old-fashioned approach sits nicely with the classic, heart-warming tale, but there are also plenty of amusing modern-day references to keep everyone entertained. Add an A-list cast (Bill Murray, Meryl Streep, Owen Wilson) and you’ve got a film perfect for almost everyone.

Lost Season 5
(DVD, Blu-ray) When Lost started way back in 2004, we naturally assumed the last episode would see the survivors leave the island. This season however proves just how unpredictable the show is. The first half is almost entirely set in LA and most of the cast jump back to the ’70s. And the humour’s still there – the highlight being Hurley re-writing The Empire Strikes Back so he can send it to George Lucas.

True Blood Season 1
(DVD, Blu-ray) Sexy, but slightly silly vampire drama set in America’s Deep South. Recommended if you like nudity in your American dramas. We do.

Drag Me To Hell
(DVD, Blu-ray) Spider-Man’s Sam Raimi returns to his horror roots with this tale of a woman cursed to hell. Enjoyable but not terrifying, it’s a great Saturday night film.
