Remaking a classic movie is a brave move, but Football Factory director Nick Love has pulled it off in style. The focus shifts from the charismatic but psychopathic leader of West Ham’s firm Bex (played by Gary Oldman in the original) to wannabe footie casual Dom, who’s desperate to be accepted into the group. Laugh-out-loud funny and set to a classic ’80s soundtrack, The Firm is a winner.

Episodic road trip movie, as a couple leave their rural home and travel the US, looking for somewhere new to live. Strives to be the new Juno, falls some way short.

Like an update of Arnie classic The Running Man, Gerard Butler is a pawn in a real-life computer game, but breaks free of the mind control and tries to escape.

Fast And Furious
(DVD, Blu-ray) A storming return to the street racing franchise for Vin Diesel and the original cast, who mostly bailed after the first film in 2001. Vehicle hijacker Dom Toretto (Diesel) and his former nemesis, FBI agent Brian (Paul Walker), go undercover in a drug-smuggling gang – but the plot’s of secondary concern. Are the cars cool, the women hot and the stunts amazing? Yes, yes and yes.

Entourage Season 5
(DVD) Another batch of cameo-packed Hollywood-based drama. Hot-shot actor Vince is trying to rebuild his career after pet-project Medellin tanked.

Sounds Like Teen Spirit
(DVD, Blu-ray) Like spelling bee doc Spellbound for Junior Eurovision, this follows the musical youths to the finals in Rotterdam. Quirky and hilarious.
