AvatarHow do you follow the most successful movie in Oscars history?

Titanic director James Cameron decided to work for a decade developing mind-melting photo-realistic motion-capture and 3D technology to make his $237m (£144m) dream project Avatar come to life.

The movie's not out until December, but we've seen 15 minutes of it – and it's awesome.
Set on the dangerous alien planet of Pandora, it's the story of a crippled marine who's given a lab-grown alien body (known as an Avatar) to infiltrate the indigenous race of nine-foot tall Na'vis.

And just how dangerous is the planet? Marine Corps colonel Quaritch (the guy with the scarred head, right) tells his troops: 'It's my job to keep you alive. I will not succeed. Not with all of you.'

It's swarming with thick forests and deadly giant beasts, but it turns out the most dangerous creature might actually be man. Deep.
