The List

Music Review: Pacific! Reveries

What’s the story? They’ve spent the last year tantalising taste-makers with limited-edition singles, but this chart-friendly, sun-splashed debut album proper should ensure their appeal stretches far and wide.
Any good? The band’s sound is firmly rooted in ’60s West Coast, harmony-drenched Americana. Combine this with an aloof electronic edge that recalls a less-uptight Air and you’ve got an appealing sound. Tracks like Sunset Blvd are so laid back they hover around horizontal, but it’s all propped up by an underlying cool pop sensibility. Very impressive.
