It’s great! Right now, I’m probably playing the best football I ever have for England.

What role has the manager played in that?
He’s been great for everyone. He’s on the training pitch, always helping and telling me to do certain things. Sometimes we watch videos of different games and analyse them. Even in training, players could end up being on the video later for making mistakes, so everyone has to be at the top of their game.

Has Capello pointed anything particular out to you?
He’s told me to get into better positions to score more goals. I agree with that – not only for England but Man United as well.

But does Fergie agree, too?
Both Sir Alex and Fabio have tried to get me to play further up the pitch. It seems to be working. I’m getting into more dangerous positions now.

Did you hear Fergie claim that you could become the world’s best player one day?
Yeah, I’m really pleased – for him to say that is great. But i just want to concentrate on playing and try to progress with every game.

Do you reckon you can become the No1, though?
Of course. You play football to be the best and I want to be that. Obviously, it’s a great title and I’ll just keep working hard to get there.
