Put-upon Portsmouth FC lost their first seven Premier League games in a row - a deeply unhappy run.

But then some players, under manager Paul Hart (above), discovered on the last day of September that their pay had not entered their bank accounts.

The club did then manage to pay their players' wages - and even won a game, with an away victory at Wolves last weekend.

But the latest twist is that Ali Al-Faraj has become the club's third owner in two months after buying Pompey from Sulaiman Al Fahim, who would have had to produce £16.5m by 15 October to keep the club out of administration!
