The snooker phenom nicknamed ‘The Golden Boy’ spent a record of eight consecutive years at no.1 in the snooker world rankings and was the youngest-ever world champion at 21. Having turned professional at 16 and began playing the game at only 12, Hendry was also the youngest ever winner of a professional title when he won The Rothman’s Grand Prix in 1987 aged 18.
