BECKHAM MUSTN'T QUIT ENGLAND!
We're back on England duty this week and I hope to be involved in what we all know are massive games in Andorra and Croatia. We got stick for the performance against the Czechs and, whilst we know it wasn't perfect, we are confident of doing good things this week.

It's nice that some people have said I should be starting, and I'd love to. But you won't hear me jumping on the bandwagon that wants David Beckham to retire. Because
of who he is, he'll always attract more attention and right now - with the team not doing as well as we'd like - that attention is negative.

He set up a goal at Wembley the other night and still offers the team so much, both on and off the pitch. All I want to do is get amongst the squad, train with a smile on my
face, enjoy the craic... and then it's up to the manager.

I guess it's odd I'm competing for a place in the team with not only a top player, but a world icon. He's a global brand and is probably the most photographed man on the planet. But with us, he's just Becks.

He gets stick and dishes it out. He's a good lad. I can't wait to see him and have some banter about his appearance at the closing ceremony of the Beijing Olympics.
Did that volley off the back of the bus hit someone? He won't be getting off lightly. I'll get stuck in!

WINNING BACK THE FANS
There is a lot of negativity about the England team and it's said the public have fallen out of love with us. People are quick to bring up our wages and how well Team GB did at the Olympics - but we just have to get on with things.

The players care so much about results and want success more than anyone. You get negative press when things go badly and we didn't qualify for Euro 2008, so what do we expect? It's up to us to get back to winning ways and if we get decent results against Andorra and Croatia, people will start to get back on our side. It's a game of opinions. That's another reason I love football.

I've had a few queries about my current haircut and how much gel goes on for the effect. Do I put my head in a bucket of gel before I go out? Not quite, but a good load goes on.
I think it gives me a touch of the Errol Flynns. Very old Hollywood, I think!

I hate that show. Each to their own, but to me fame and success should be worked for. In fact, I'd go as far as to say it pollutes people's minds!
