Curbishley Quits!
Alan CurbishleyUnder fire boss and sack race favourite Alan Curbishley has today resigned as manager of West Ham football club!

The news broke as the football world's eyes were squarely fixed on the drama unfolding on Tyneside. Newcastle United manager Kevin Keegan was on the back pages of every paper this morning as he spent most of yesterday as a, wrongly reported, sacked manager.

And with Kevin Keegan's future no clearer, it seems the bug has caught on as East End native Alan Curbishley today tendered his resignation over disillusionment at the club's transfer policy.

The disillusionment arises from the club's sale of defenders Anton Ferdinand and George McCartney, both to Sunderland.

Although West Ham sit in sixth place, just one point off the league leaders the fans had been on Curbishley's back from the beginning of the season, with his main detractors calling for Croatia manager Slaven Bilic to replace him.
