Strange Sending Offs!
Andre Bikey - ACN 2008: Cameroon v Ghana
Bikey blew his chances of playing in the final after sending a Ghanaian medical official tumbling to the ground in the dying minutes of the game. Tending to his crocked team-mate Rigobert Song, it appeared that one of the officials had accused Song of poor gamesmanship. And Bikey - not taking to kindly to this - duly gave the official a push to the floor.
Zinedine Zidane - World Cup Final 2006: France v Italy
World Cup Final, possibly the best player to grace the planet in the last ten years, his swansong game, Materazzi calls his sister a whore (or something to that extent) and the Frenchman proceeds to show Materazzi's chest the full force of his forehead.
Wayne Rooney – Champions League 2005 Group Match: Manchester United v Villarreal
Mr Rooney shows his lack of appreciation at the award of yellow card for his challenge and applauds the referee on his spot-on decision. This ref was, however, not one for sarcasm and rewarded the striker with a shiny new red one to go with his yellow.
Paolo Di Canio - Premier League 1998: Sheffield Wednesday v Arsenal
The Italian is so passionate that he hates losing, even if it is a throw in. He vents his frustrations to the man in black who hopes to calm Di Canio with the flash of the yellow. That only seems to anger Di Canio further and, like a bull eyeing up a matador, he saw red and proceeded to provide us with the famous Paul Alcock tumble and roll.
Juan Roman Riquelme - Apertura Liga Match: Boca Juniors
The moody Argentine loses his cool after an opposing player grabs a feel of his posterior. Needless to say, Riquelme did not take lightly to this mild groping and flails an arm into the direction of the players face. The rest, as they say, is history.
