The Edinburgh Festival 2012's Funniest Comics Share Their New Jokes!

The Edinburgh Festival's Funniest Comics 2012!

The sheer utter amazingness of the Edinburgh Festival – which started last week – doesn’t take a lot of explaining.

Basically, it’s the country’s finest comedians performing in a series of random locations across a city where you can drink 24 hours a day. For one whole month.

With that in mind, we thought we would celebrate this mammoth event by getting seven of our favourite stand-up comedians – all of whom are doing brand new shows in the Scottish capital this month – together in a pub for a few beers.

Needless to say, when they started telling us what it is that makes the Festival so great/bizarre/exhausting, there was a fair bit of laughter…

The man who makes sex addiction funny

“The Festival is basically the perfect excuse for a liver transplant. I got kicked out of one of the bars last year for having sex in the toilets. They had eight bouncers come in to get me, which seemed a bit much.

I asked if we could finish off if they were allowed to watch, but they didn’t go for it. Mind you, the highlight was walking up and down the Royal Mile, naked except for a sandwich board, asking people how much they would pay to sleep with me. A copper threatened to put the handcuffs on me. I told him that was going to cost him extra, but he didn’t think that was very funny.”

Festival funny

“Being a sex addict is a lonely lifestyle. It involves a lot of self-romancing and a lot of crying, often simultaneously. Although embarrassing, it does prove men can multi-task.”
