The Edinburgh Festival 2012's Funniest Comics Share Their New Jokes!
The sheer utter amazingness of the Edinburgh Festival – which started last week – doesn’t take a lot of explaining.
Basically, it’s the country’s finest comedians performing in a series of random locations across a city where you can drink 24 hours a day. For one whole month.
With that in mind, we thought we would celebrate this mammoth event by getting seven of our favourite stand-up comedians – all of whom are doing brand new shows in the Scottish capital this month – together in a pub for a few beers.
Needless to say, when they started telling us what it is that makes the Festival so great/bizarre/exhausting, there was a fair bit of laughter…
All hair and laughter
“If you walk down any street in Edinburgh during the month of the Festival, you will see someone getting a handjob outside a Greggs. If you cheer, they’ll cheer back!
As for crowds, the biggest difference is that you get a lot more sleeping people. They’ve been drinking since 11am, so by the time I’m on, there are rough-looking men in polo shirts dribbling in the crowd who look like they should be at the football but have turned up at the wrong event. I can imagine four teen girls in the away end at Celtic, screaming ‘This is terrifying!’”
“I hate TOWIE. It doesn’t matter what pattern a lady’s vajazzle is – when you run your hand over that, it’s brail for slag.”
Seann will be performing nightly at the Pleasance Beyond at 7.50pm
