ZOO Hot Dates: Body Language
Men come from Mars and women come from Venus - that we understand. But the unwritten rules of female interest need more study. And as we're not mind-readers the best thing we can do is read the signs.
So to help you read the ‘come to bed' signals of the opposite sex when you're next out on a ZOO Hot Date, we've compiled this definitive list of the most regularly used attraction-displaying body language.
The 10 Body Language Commandments:
1. Holding Eye Contact. You catch her watching you and it ain't the first time or she holds your gaze for that split second longer, then she might just be thinking about kissing you. No suing if she's not! Also look out for the pupils getting bigger - it's a sign she likes what she's seeing.
2. Hairplay. Flick, twirl, twist, or toss that hair. Playing with her hair and showing her neck is an extremely friendly sign that says look at me. Used a lot with long hair but can still get attention when used by women with short hair too. Hair Fiddling is also common, generally a women may play with her hair to make you look at what they're doing and look at them.
3. Hand Signs. If a woman's relaxed in your company, she will expose the inside of her wrists and palms of her hands whilst talking to you. This gesture says: "I'm interested in you and want to communicate."
4. Mirroring. Mirror, mirror on the wall... she's mirroring your body movements so as to create a bond. You put a hand on the table - then she does. You rotate your glass - she copies. You lean in to kiss her...(Again, no money back guarantee here!)
5. Getting physical. Whoops! She brushes your arm again then touches your knee (giggle, giggle). No that wasn't a mistake it's actually a very reliable sign of attraction.
6. Giggles. Laughing or giggling is a surefire way to know she's enjoying your company. Reel her in.
7. Banter. It means flirtatious chat or teasing and she's doing it to get your attention. Play the game and tease right back.
8. Nervousness. A shaky hand or a stutter means she might be feeling self-conscious. She's nervous which means she's excited, translation: she likes you.
9. Stance. She crosses her legs towards you, leans into you, does the puppy-dog eyes look: game on. She folds her arms, turns away, glances at you: game off.
10. Stalking. It may sound like a criminal activity but in the dating game this is the shy chick's version of sharking. If she just happens to pop up near the football pitch again, you got to start asking why. It's not just fate mate. Get in!
