She's practically a member of the family, which is why our archives boast Atkinson classics such as her Soapstar Superstar Videos, wallpapers and poolside pics.

In today's little daydream, Atkinson has travelled 7 million light years to save us from a gargantuan toad-like alien with acid drool and an interest in ...erm... "sweeping us off our feet".

She zooms across the red plains of Mars like NASA's own Tinkerbell and blasts toad face into small particles before checking our vitals and radioing for the drop ship.

ZOO hasn't leaned in for the kiss yet, partly because we're so glad to see her that we can't stop spluttering, but nevermind - it's a long way home.

The ship pulls away, leaving the wretched planet behind. As Mars disappears from sight, Ms Atkinson places a hand on our shoulder and asks softly: "Fancy a cuppa?"
