Leon Camier go-karting

Firstly I'd just like to pay my respects to Craig Jones, it was a real bummer to hear he passed away this week. I've been racing against Craig since he was 12 so I know first-hand that he was a great rider. His family must have been really proud of him and I know he'll be sorely missed.

MEMORY-LOSS
Freak accidents like that are rare in this sport but it makes you realise it could happen to anyone. I had my own bad bang at Oulton Park in the last round.

I crashed in qualifying and I couldn't remember a thing - where I crashed, what day it was, nothing. When I went back out for practise I was afraid anytime I had a little slide or delay, so a decision was made not to race. It was really scary!

22ND BIRTHDAY
I'm back in good health now after a few days off and I celebrated my 22nd birthday earlier this week by training my backside off! This week is really busy; as well as getting ready for Knockhill this weekend, we're also going up to Glasgow for a display show. We're basically going to ride around the town and do a few wheelies, which sounds great to me.

It wasn't all bad though because Bianchi and Ducati have sorted me out with a replica push bike. It's already been out for some hard races.

Leon CamierBEATING RALLY DRIVER
I was recently named one of the new "Airwaves Pros" which made me proud. As well as my teammate Shane Byrne, World Rally driver Matthew Wilson and A1GP's Katie Clements, I'm a senior ambassador for Airwaves now so I guess I'll have to kick my performance up a gear!

We went go-karting to mark the occasion and I'm even prouder to say I beat rally driver Matthew Wilson... not once but twice. I promised not to brag about it but he's 9th in the world right now so I reckon I'm entitled to blow my horn a little. I even lapped him in one of the races!

I'm not getting carried away though, the only 4-wheel racing I've ever done is on go-karts so I won't be switching disciplines just yet.
