Nothing Sweet About Easter!

No Rest for the Wicked!

Well it's Easter time and in engage Super League that means a feast of matches for supporters and of course us players.

For those of you who don't know we play a full round of six matches on Good Friday (in fact Rhinos and Bulls played last night) and then we do it all again on Easter Monday.

Playing two high-intensity Rugby League games in the space of four days is certainly tough on the body and it does take a lot out of you but the Easter period is big tradition in Rugby League and I wouldn't miss it for the world.

The supporters love it and that's fair enough. It's a great time for all the family to come together and take in plenty of action.

Our Easter Egg-chasing schedule!

Good Friday
Warrington Wolves v Huddersfield Giants KO 15:00

Easter Monday
Castleford Tigers v Warrington Wolves KO 15:30

No Chocolate!

I know it's the cliché of clichés but we really do take each game as it comes over this period. If you look ahead to another match before you've played your first one then you can find yourself in trouble! Our coach Paul Cullen has got us very well prepared though and we've been tapering the training a bit in anticipation of a pretty physical four days.

Most of the sessions this week have been short and sharp and that's been just the job for our squad.

As a player you've also got to watch your diet when you are playing so much so there'll be no chocolate eggs for me or the lads. Although I'm sure some of the forwards might sneak one or two into the dressing room!

Millennium Magic

Most of the matches that will be played over Easter will be repeated at the Millennium Magic event in Cardiff this May.

It's the weekend when all teams play their Round 13 matches at The Millennium Stadium and it was a great event last year - especially for us as we beat Salford by 50. I didn't get selected but I hope I get a chance to play this season when we face Huddersfield Giants. It would be awesome to run out at such an arena.

Following on from last week when I was talking about how many of the Warrington boys were keen guitarists somebody e-mailed in and suggested that we should form a tribute band to the well known French/ Spanish acoustic folk ensemble.

The name, ' The Gypsy Wolves' has been suggested!

I'll tell the lads not to give up the day job though!
