Coach Cullen pulls the strings – as do a lot of my teammates
Musical Chairs
We all prepare differently at Warrington before a big game to psyche ourselves up.
I like to listen to some R'n'B or dance on my iPod and have a set playlist which I go through each week. I have one main song before kick off - DJ Cool's ‘Let me clean your throat' - and I have to admit the title sounds a lot worse than it actually is!
We've got quite a musical dressing room at Warrington with a lot of the lads fancying themselves as guitarists.
Anyone who sees us heading off to pre-season training camp or away trips could quite easily mistake us for a rock band rather than a rugby team due to the amount of instruments that are loaded onto the bus.
Martin Gleeson is probably the best guitarist we have in the team, although the downside is that ‘Glees' and his brother also have a shocking taste in hardcore dance music.
As well as the Gleeson brothers strumming along, our coach Paul Cullen also likes to play. As does Vinnie Anderson, Jon Clarke and Ben Westwood. When we're away they all sit around comparing notes and different songs. Luckily we've not got to the stage yet where it's like a Scouts jamboree with everyone playing round an open fire, but only time will tell.
Out of all the lads, Ben Westwood is the most likely to appear on the X-Factor as he's always singing. Even last week just before kick off against Catalans he was belting something out. Usually it's Ben E. King's ‘Stand by Me' or something by Oasis but it's always a great laugh as he thinks he's far better at singing then he actually is.
Local rivalry
On Saturday we're making our third appearance in front of the Sky Sports cameras when we play our local rival Wigan Warriors.
It's always a massive game against Wigan. We're both level on points at the moment behind the new World Champions Leeds, so both sides will be desperate to win in front of what should be a sell-out crowd at the Halliwell Jones stadium.
We've had the edge over Wigan in recent years however, come Saturday I;'m sure past results will count for nothing once we kick off.
I must say congratulations to Leeds Rhinos as well for winning the Carnegie World Club Challenge last week. It was a tight game against Melbourne Storm in what were awful conditions, but they were deserved winners.
