Reasons Spurs Will Finish 4th, Above Arsenal.

I was listening to Talksport the other day and Gary Stevens was asking if Spurs fans were confident going into next season and if they were, why?

I truly believe that Spurs will finish 4th next season and here are my reasons for this:

1. (and this is the major reason) Arsenal are fucked. With the departure of David Dein has come a great deal of unrest at the scummers, talk of Henry leaving has become far more believable recently and I dont see him starting the season in an Arsenal shirt. Without Henry, they dont have a team. I believe Wenger will stick it out for 1 more year before joining Barcelona. They have also ploughed all of their transfer money into the new stadium, so there will be no major signings for a couple of years, unless the sale of Henry funds them.

2. We played the whole of last season without a left side. This is something BMJ has started to rectify already with the aquisition of Gareth Bale (who I believe may play a more advanced role at Spurs) and all the reports are pointing to us looking for more left sided players.

3. We have been tested over a long season now, and passed with flying colours. Last season was a long one for us but we came through it, got to the latter stages in cup competitions and our league place didnt suffer because of it. We didnt go the same way as Boro and Everton when they were in Europe (sacrificing their league position) instead we improved on the season before.

4. We look to be focusing on our defence. This was a major area which let us down last season but we seem to be making the right moves by looking at good young central defenders to give us strength in depth. It looks like we will sign Kaboul who is an immense figure in defence and a superb understudy if "King Ledley" is out for long periods again.

5. Our young squad of talented players. Everyone has been harping on about how good Arsenals young players are but we have some of our own too. Dawson, Lennon, Taarabt, Huddlestone, Bale, Alnwick, Pekhart, Barnard, Dervite. I think you will be hearing a lot more about Tottenhams youngsters this coming season.

6. The first team signings we are looking at making not going to be too numerous and are mostly players who have experience in English Football. If you look at the players we have been linked with (and have a decent chance of getting) Pedersen, Downing, Davies, Bent, Dyer. Whether you agree with the signings or not (some of them, I would hate us to sign) it is good that we are looking at players who will not need time to adjust to the English game.

There may be some points here you disgree with (especially stinking gooners) or you may have extra reasons to add, either way, let me know.
